1D. Egon Volcano Trekking

Trekking in Egon Volcano can be done in one day, starting from your hotel early in the morning. The volcano is still active. You will see thick fumarola come out of the crater and strong sulphur smell spreading out around the volcano.

The volcano itself has an altitude about 1,700 meter above sea level can be done in five hours trekking. You will start this trek from Blidit village. As it is closest place from the volcano where you will get a local guide leading you during the trek up to the summit.

• Pick up at your accommodation in Maumere
• Drive to Blidit Village
• take a local guide in the village
• Trekking up to the volcano’s summit for about three hours
• Enjoy the spectacular view from the volcano 
• Walk around the crater to see the epicentrum from the previous erruption 
• Trekking back to the Blidit village
• Short trek to natural hot spring near Blidit village
• Relax and take a bath at the hot spring
• Drive back to your accommodation
